Outlook 2002 & 2003: How do I set up my e-mail account?

These instructions apply to users who are setting up Outlook 2002 or Outlook 2003 on their computers for the first time.

Before you can use Outlook 2002 and/or Outlook 2003 to send and receive e-mail, you must configure the client with important information about your e-mail account. The first time you open Outlook 2002 or 2003, it will automatically start the Outlook Startup Wizard to help you enter this information.

First, open Outlook 2002 or 2003 by clicking Start, Programs, and Microsoft Outlook.

If you are opening Outlook 2002 or 2003 for the first time, a window with the title Outlook Startup Wizard Screen will appear automatically. Click Next. The E-mail Accounts window will appear.

Note:

If the Outlook Startup Wizard does not appear when you start Outlook 2002 or 2003, then select E-mail Accounts from the Tools menu, select the "Add a new e-mail account" option, and click Next. Now skip to Step 3 below.
